There is a musical revolution around the country.Regional language Music has become a big draw now.Maithili is also not an exception in that scenario.You find a new Maithili Album released almost every month now.This musical revolution in the Mthila region has been facilitated by numerous F.M.Radio stations operating from Nepalese side of Mithila.Janakpur,Rajviraj,Lahan,Biratnagar has one or more FM stations which keeps blaring Maithili Songs day in and day out.Dhirendra Premarshi,Rupa Jha,Dilip Darbhangia,Amod Jha,Rambabu Jha and many other singers are now household names.Mobile Phones with FM are ubiquitous and they have also played their part in popularising the music.
Earlier a Maithili Singer had to do odd jobs to sustain himself because there were very limited opportunities to earn money.But now they are well off financially.They are much in demand and they get paid well for their performances.This is initial days and one hopes that it will find its level very soon.
